These delicate plants are stressed from the shipping process. Realize this and don't throw out the plant when it looks dead! I had read on a website that the plant will appear dead when it goes dormant. I stuck with it and now I have a very nice young plant that is very healthy. It was packaged really well and isn't withered or anything. Only thing is that one of the traps tried to eat another. :D There are cery clear care instructions included. It arrived in a little tough shape which is expected but I cut away the black traps. Already in less than a month maybe 4 or 5 new traps have come through. These plants are fast growing under the right conditions so don't feel like your plant is dead with a few black traps. Would recommend and would buy again! The traps aren't as big as the product pictures make them look but it can eat very small insects. Just water with distilled water and you should be fine. Soon the last one turned brown despite being warm. I have kept it all summer to see if it was going to grow back, but sadly it didn't. I ordered it in spring when it was still cool here. I got it inside immediately, but I suspect it got too cold during it's trip to us. I DON'T believe it was the sellers fault! My kids did get to see the 1 trap eat before it parished. Would love to try it again sometime. I saved the fly trap soil we had bought prior to the plants arrival and have kept it semi moist and maybe we will try again!
